Director of Manufacturing Engineering (Full-Time/San Rafael, CA)

We are looking for a successful candidate to oversee our ekoa® production facility with experience managing teams, optimizing production processes, and a strong background in manufacturing engineering.

As a Director of Manufacturing Engineering, responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process ensuring that quality standards are met, and identifying areas for improvement in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of continuous, roll-to-roll manufacturing, ideally composites in particular.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of our eco-veneer and panel production, from raw materials to finished products and ensure outcomes are aligned with company goals

  • Ensure that production is optimized for quality, cost, efficiency, and safety

  • Identify areas for improvement, develop, and implement strategies to address them to meet production quantity and quality objectives

  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations in building materials production

  • Collaborate and engage with research, testing, and product development towards product performance, quality, and cost improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field experience

  • 8+ years of manufacturing industry experience required in researching, developing, and manufacturing products in composites or consumer durables including wall covering, flooring, furniture, and/or auto industry

  • 6+ years of demonstrated strong leadership and manufacturing team management skills with some small/midsize company experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of a variety of converting processes

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Process engineering experience

  • Support executive team in defining objectives, plans, and inspiring reports to achieve key results

  • Work cross-functionally while ensuring completion and accountability for programs

  • Drive a customer, safety, and quality first culture

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

About the Role

  • You will be working from our San Rafael, California facility. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, onsite. Core hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
