Lingrove is an eco-materials innovation company working at the intersection of beauty and engineering with a 14 year track record in manufacturing. Lingrove has been in business since 2014 making what we dubbed ‘natural’ composites. That is, making high performance materials out of natural fibers and resins instead of carbon fiber, metal or trees.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
It all started when Joe Luttwak, founder of Blackbird Guitars, set a team challenge: we wanted to make a guitar with the performance of carbon fiber and the sound of old wood – without cutting a single tree or using any toxic inputs. We knew that there had to be a better way. And years later, we brought ekoa® to market.
By reverse-engineering the extraordinary strength of old-growth wood, we invented a proprietary formulation and scalable product platform that turns waste and rapidly renewable materials into high performance products. The ekoa® eco-veneers, panels, and wayfinding applications you see today represent over 15 years of research and development into sustainable materials.
Our research and design center is based in San Francisco's Mission district; our main manufacturing plant is located in San Rafael, California. We have additional manufacturing partner facilities in the EU. All ekoa® products sold in the US are proudly manufactured in the US, keeping our supply chain local to achieve our mission of delivering carbon-neutral and negative products to the market.
